Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said on Monday that the national economy is "balanced" and "completely meets citizens' requirements."
Halqi, who was speaking at an extraordinary meeting of the Syrian Doctors' Syndicate, also said the government continues to offer free health and educational services.
Halqi said the Syrian economic sectors are being targeted with the aim of undermining its competitive and structural capabilities, but said despite this, Syria's wheat production for 2013 will exceed 2.5 million tons and that Syria's strategic wheat reserves are sufficient for two years.
