The Syrian army continues to expand its control over more areas inside Lattakia province as units step up their anti-terrorist operations in the region.
Army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, established full control over the strategic al-Noubeh Mountain in the northern countryside of Lattakia province after killing a number of terrorists and forcing others to flee, a military source announced Wednesday.
The units combed the mountain, removing explosive devices and mines planted by the terrorists, the source added.
The army forces established control over Sheir al-Sahab and Point 793, overlooking al-Sarmaniyeh in the northwestern countryside of Hama, after killing a number of terrorists.
An army unit targeted Ahrar al-Sham Movement positions in the town of al-Tamanaa, 8 km east of Khan Sheikhoun in the countryside of Idleb, field sources said.
At least eight terrorists were killed and seven others injured, most of them non-Syrians, as a result of the operation, while a vehicle and a car were also destroyed.
Another army unit killed 10 terrorists in a special operation on a command space for terrorists in al-Hbeit village, near the border with Hama.
The sources also noted that the terrorist organizations suffered heavy losses as two of their centers were hit by the army in the village of Abu Makki and in the northern parts of Khan Sheikhoun city.
In Hama countryside, an army unit carried out two special operations targeting gatherings of terrorists from Jund al-Aqsa in Mourek town, 30 km north of Hama city, killing at least six terrorists.
