In a statement released on Sunday, the Foreign Ministry expressed its interest in the decision made by the Council of the League of Arab States during its extraordinary session held at the General Secretariat of the League on May 7th, 2023. The decision stated that the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic could resume participation in the meetings of the Council of the League of Arab States and all its organizations as of Sunday. The Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of dialogue and joint action to address the challenges facing Arab countries.

The Foreign Ministry also reiterated Syria’s continuous position as a founding member of the League of Arab States. It emphasized the need to strengthen joint Arab action and cooperation in the next stage. The Ministry called for an effective and constructive Arab approach at both the bilateral and collective levels, based on dialogue, mutual respect, and common interests of the Arab nation.
