Editorial: Turkey’s Sarin

Chemical weapons used by rebels came from Turkey

Turkish ground troops and pilots are directly involved in pitched battles for the Mannagh airfield, north of Aleppo, according to Syrian military sources and Al-Watan Newspaper.

Military sources said the Turkish troops are fighting alongside terrorist mercenaries from the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, along with other foreign mercenaries from Tunisia, Libya and other countries.

Journalists have repeatedly documented a Turkish military presence in Syria, involved in the distribution of large weapons shipments to terrorist and mercenary brigades.

Minister of Information, Omran al-Zoubi has previously issued a statement suggesting chemical weapons had been used by terrorists in Khan al-Assal, in the Aleppo countryside, and that they had probably entered Syria via Turkey. He said the incident should be thoroughly investigated.

A missile which struck Khan al-Assal was launched from an area where terrorists are known to be operating, not far from Turkish territory.

Unfortunately, the U.N. has refused an official request from Syria to investigate the terrorists' use of chemicals in Khan al-Assal. In that context, the recent French and British announcements regarding chemical use are highly suspicious and prove only that there is an ongoing game of falsifications and fabrications. This game will only escalate with every failure and setback to al-Qaeda affiliates operating in Syrian territory at the hands of the Syrian army heroes.
