Regime Warplanes Target Civilians in Idleb Market

Assad planes massacre over a dozen civilians after market in Idleb countryside hit with guided missiles

Regime warplanes have committed a horrific massacre in the town of an-Najiah in the western countryside of Idleb, when a market crowded with civilians was targeted. More than a dozen civilians were killed and more than 30 wounded.

Three air raids targeted a popular market in the town center with guided missiles, resulting in the death and injury of dozens, with a number of victims taken to nearby field hospitals in the countryside of Idleb and Lattakia. "Several houses in the town were completely destroyed", the Syria News Office said.

Doctor Jamal Abu al-Wared, who works in the Osama Ablaq field hospital in the countryside of Lattakia, told the Syria News Office that the hospital has received only "urgent" cases in need of immediate surgery. "These were about 20 cases, while two of them died after their arrival to the hospital", the doctor explained.

Regime warplanes stepped up raids on Sunday on the rebel-held areas in the countryside of Idleb, after two days of relative peace following a rainstorm that hit the region.
