Turkish Assault on Afrin Leaving Wake of Civilian Deaths, Rubble

The aggression of the regime of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reached Hassakeh’s countryside, as a civilian was killed when the Turkish army opened fire on a group of locals in the village of Ayn al-Hissan in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn.

Meanwhile, the assault on the city of Afrin entered its 10th day on Monday with the Turkish forces continuing their shelling of Jendiris, Hammam, the area surrounding the Afrin Dam, and other villages and towns in the area, causing extensive damage to infrastructure.

Local sources told SANA that the continued shelling around the dam will likely cause structural damage to the facility, which could lead to a disaster in the area if the dam collapses.

The sources said that rescue teams and local residents continue lifting rubble in search of survivors following a massacre carried out by Turkey against civilians in the village of Qabli. They added that the civilian toll is currently at eight dead and seven wounded, most of them in critical condition, while the search is still underway for 10 others who remain missing.
