Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal Mikdad said the so-called “international coalition” on combating terrorism, led by the US, will fail as it is unlikely this coalition will fight the Islamic State (ISIS) while many states continue to support the organization, whether secretly or publicly.
“We can’t believe that the coalition is carrying on a serious war against terrorism while it pushes the flocks of ISIS from Iraq, encouraging them to kill people and destroy Syria… we can’t believe this is a war on terrorism without coordinating with Iraq and Syria,” Mikdad said in an article published in al-Binaa newspaper on Saturday.
He added those states which participate in the brutal ISIS campaign on Syria are of its neighboring countries which arm, finance train and harbor terrorists, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey – in addition to the operation rooms run by representatives of the US, Israeli, Qatari and French intelligence.
Mikdad went on to say that the ugly crime of burning alive the Jordanian pilot Moaz Kassasbeh has negatively impacted Arab views on the organization in Syria and Jordan, referring to the Syrian government’s condemnation of the ISIS crime.
Mikdad wondered how a political regime could fight terrorists in north Syria while arming, training and transporting terrorists to destroy the country’s south.
He affirmed that the lesson the Arabs must learn from the ISIS crime against Kassasbeh is to reconsider the policies that led to such a catastrophe, particularly as the terrorist organizations they fund, like the Nusra Front and the Free Army were initially responsible for burning people alive and eating their internal organs.
