Kuwait Arrests “Bashar al-Assad’s Man”, Mazen al-Tarazi

Mazen al-Tarazi has donated large amounts of money to the Assad regime and has taken part in protests in support of Syria reports Al-Qabas.

Sources have revealed that Kuwaiti security forces arrested Mazen al-Tarazi—a Syrian businessman living in Kuwait—and four of his assistants at the al-Hadaf magazine.

The sources said that a raid on the magazine by detectives lasted three hours, and that during this time the magazine’s computers, cameras and the personal phones of Tarazi were confiscated,  before the man who is known as “Bashar al-Assad’s man” was handcuffed.

It is reported that the charges on which Tarazi was arrested are related to money laundering for foreign parties as well as printing without a license.

According to the sources, Mazen al-Tarazi’s secretary was arrested as well as his Lebanese assistants, on charges of being affiliated with Hezbollah and spying for the organization.

Tarazi is one of the main Syrian businessmen backing the Bashar al-Assad regime. He has always been keen to donate to it and the so-called “Martyrs Schools” for children of regime forces, while also participating in protests in the United States in front of the White House in support of the Syrian regime.
