Over 150 people in Aleppo, Idleb and Latakia have turned themselves in and handed over their weapons after admitting to participating in events in Syria.
93 people from Aleppo, 34 in Idleb and 23 in Lattakia were released after admitting they had been misled into taking part in actions against state security.
They all had their cases settled, pledging not to take up arms again or engage in any act that harms Syria's security. Their release will serve as a catalyst for the others who followed the same wrong path to do the same and turn themselves in.
Secretary of the Baath Party branch in Aleppo, Ahmad Saleh Ibrahim said that the protecting the country is everyone's responsibility.
The release is an opportunity for those released to return to their families and to a normal life, the Governor of Aleppo Mohammad Wahid al-Akkad said, calling on those who had been misled into becoming involved in events to embrace common sense and become effective members of society.
