Registration of voters at the Syrian Embassy in Beirut for the upcoming presidential election in Syria has been on the rise since the beginning of May, Ambassador Ali Abdul-Karim said on Tuesday.
He told SANA that Syrians in Lebanon have been coming to the embassy from areas across Lebanon, expressing enthusiasm for practicing their right to vote and elect their country's leader.
Syrians abroad are expected to cast their ballots at the Syrian embassies around the world on 28 May, while voting inside Syria is set for 3 June.
The Syrian community in Cyprus have also started registering their names at the Syrian embassy for presidential election.
They gathered at the Syrian embassy in Nicosia to register their names on the official list which was set by the embassy for them to practice their right to elect a President of the Republic.
