Syrian rebels on Thursday have made gains north of Aleppo, recapturing blocs that were controlled by regime forces.
At least 20 of Assad’s troops were killed during ongoing clashes between Islamist fighters and forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad in the Mallah district.
Islamist fighters have taken control of six buildings in Mallah, according to a Zaman al-Wasl reporter.
Meanwhile, Syrian warplanes have conducted a series of raids on cities and villages of northern Aleppo, resulting in many casualties.
