The ‘Inspiration’ Khaldoon Sinjab Touches Down in Abu Dhabi for Special Treatment

The Syrian programmer Khaldoon Sinjab arrived Thursday with his family to the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi aboard a medically-equipped airplane to receive treatment in the Emirates.

The Emirati newspaper Al-Khaleej reported that a medical team oversaw Khaldoon’s transport immediately upon his arrival at the Abu Dhabi airport to the Cleveland Clinic hospital, where a special medical team began to examine him.

The newspaper said that the Emirati embassy in Beirut oversaw the transport of Khaldoon Sinjab and family members under the instructions of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

Sinjab works as a programmer for several global companies and has been a Lynx server administrator for years despite nearly total paralysis, which prompted Arab and regional sites to describe him as an “inspiration.”

The inspirational programmer had an accident while swimming at the coast of the Syrian city of Tartous when he was 17 years old, rendering him quadriplegic for life. He uses his tongue in all programming operations.

The paralysis of Khaldoon’s diaphragm forced him to use an artificial breathing device permanently in order to remain alive. This is what he has endured recently in the site of his refuge, the Lebanese capital Beirut.
