Pro-regime media on Wednesday mourned a high-ranking officer killed in Qaboun in Damascus.
Pro-regime sources said that Faysal Ali al-Boudi, an officer in the Republican Guard, was killed in al-Qaboun on Tuesday.
Opposition activists said that Boudi was not killed in the battles as regime's media said, but was in fact killed by a sniper.
Ali is from al-Boudi village in the countryside of Latakia.
