The Minister for Reconciliation, Ali Haidar, survived an assassination attempt on Sunday, the Cabinet's media office told SANA.
Haidar's car was the target of a shooting attack on the main road between Masyaf and Qadoum, outside Damascus, which killed the driver.
In a statement to Syrian TV, Haidar said the attack was clearly targeted, adding that everyone in Syria is being targeted by "the hands of treachery."
"Today, we have thousands of martyrs, but we are at an important turning point; we are at the doors of a political process to emerge out of the crisis," Haidar said.
