The Syrian Revolution Facebook page on Sunday reported the killing of Colonel Alaa Mounir Sulaiman, the leader of the so-called "National Defense Forces" (NDF) in the Ghouta area near Damascus.
Activists described Sulaiman as a "savage criminal" involved in Syrian bloodshed who had killed innocent people including women and children.
Pro-Bashar Assad Facebook pages also confirmed Sulaiman’s death, saying he was killed by explosive device placed on the side of the road in Eastern Ghouta.
Sulaiman was an Alawite officer from the Aramti village, near Jableh, a city considered as a center for pro-Assad militaimen known as Shabbiha and main unit for the NDF.
