Syrian regime's forces arrested the secretary of National Coordination Commission, Safwan Akkash, in Homs while he was travelling with his wife and son from Damascus to Hama on Wednesday.
The Commission said in a statement that Akkash was arrested in Homs at a barrier of Air Force Intelligence close to Dier Baalba. According to the information, all his personal items were confiscated, including he and his wife's wallets.
This is the third time Akkash, the prominent leader in the Communist Labor Party, has been arrested since 2012, as he was arrested twice before, the last was in February 2014.
Akkash spent 17 years in regime prisons in Sednaya in the countryside of Damascus and Palmyra, in the middle of the Syrian desert, during the the 1980s and 1990s.
