The Syrian foreign ministry has said that four US-led coalition warplanes targeted a Syrian army post in Deir-ez-Zor province, killing three soldiers and injuring 13 others, in addition to destroying weapons, ammunition and vehicles.
In a statement addressed to the United Nations, the ministry stressed that Damascus strongly condemns the aggression by the coalition, affirming that the strikes contradict the goals and wills of the UN Charter.
Syria called on the UN Security Council to take immediate measures to prevent such events from recurring, adding that the coalition’s aggression on the military post hinders efforts to fight terrorism and reiterates its lack of seriousness and credibility.
