A shipment of vaccines for children has been delivered to Mouadamiyah in the Damascus Countryside.
Director of the Health Department in Damascus Countryside, Abdullah al-Assali said in a statement to SANA that a specialized medical team had also arrived in the suburb, in southwestern Damascus. He noted that the vaccines were enough for 7,000 children under five.
The delivery was carried out by the Health Department, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), according to Assali.
The vaccines include those listed on the Syrian National Vaccination Program as well as polio.
The delivery coincided with a national immunization campaign against polio, which kicked off on 31 August and ends later today.
Assali pointed out that another medical team is due to arrive in the eastern Ghouta, adding that vaccines for another 7,000 children will be delivered there.
