The Syrian government has strongly condemned the beheading of Japanese citizens Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa by ISIS.
An official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA that this brutal crime reflects the dangers of terrorism in all countries as it reflects the need for countries and parties to stop the support of these terrorist groups through arming, financing and training.
The source added that the Syrian government sympathizes with the families of the victims and with the Japanese people, stressing that the war on terrorism entails honest cooperation between all countries of the world, citing efforts by the Syrian government to eliminate these dangers by implementing the UN Security Council’s resolution No. 2170.
