The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said regime forces have lost nearly one thousand soldiers in a week, all killed in military operations led mostly by the Islamic State (IS).
The Observatory added that the regime is re-calling young people for military service to fill a shortage. The Observatory called on the Syrian youth not to join the regime's reserve forces, saying that one thousand soldiers have been killed since Assad delivered his oath after his re-election.
As a result of the heavy losses, the Observatory said, the regime is re-calling thousands of young people, informing them of the necessity of enrollment in the military barracks where they performed their military service, or asking them to go visit recruitment branches in their areas.
