During its weekly session on Tuesday, the Cabinet approved a draft resolution granting Aleppo City Council 500 million Syrian pounds to cover reconstruction expenses.
Chairing the session, Prime Minister Wael al-Halki said the Cabinet is monitoring the status of the Syrian pound exchange rate and the steps taken by the Central Bank and the Currency and Credit Council to stabilize it.
The PM noted that after the Aleppo-Khanasser-Ethraia-Salamiya road was reopened, due to the efforts of the Syrian army, the government rushed to provide the people of Aleppo with consumer goods and fuel, stressing work in this regard is ongoing.
The Cabinet also approved two draft resolutions granting the General Establishment of Railways a loan of 75 million SYP, as well as a grant for the establishments of water projects, roads, bridges, and construction loans of 167 million SYP. Legislators also approved a request from the Central Bank to fund the importation of 200,000 tons of wheat.
