On Thursday, the Syrian-Jordanian Parliamentary Brotherhood Committee discussed with the Charge d ‘Affaires at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, Assem al-Ababnieh, means of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of the standing issues and obstacles facing trade and economic cooperation and transportation, in addition to the role of parliamentarians in overcoming these obstacles.

Ababnieh, for his part, affirmed his country’s keenness for communication and cooperation with the Syrian government and upgrading relations between the parliamentarians in both countries and overcoming all obstacles facing the development of economic and trade relations.

He indicated that the deep-rooted history of brotherly and neighborly relations between the two countries won’t be changed, regardless of any pressures or circumstances from other countries.

For his part, the head of the Syrian-Jordanian Brotherhood Committee, Nayef Taleb al-Hariri, said that the Syrian and Jordanian parliamentarians aspire for positive relations between the two brotherly countries, which in the past have witnessed a notable development after the opening of the Nassib border crossing, after the Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to the area.
