The administration of the Bab al-Hawa crossing with Turkey said that 8,901 Syrians have been expelled from Turkish territory, back to Syria, throughout August via the crossing.

On Monday, the Bab al-Hawa administration through its official platforms published an infographic that explained the crossing activities and monitored the number of travellers, people expelled, students, humanitarian organization workers, commercial traffic and traders.

The crossing administration said that the total number of travellers during August, going both ways, was 65,803 people, including 4,893 departing pilgrims and 3,717 arriving pilgrims. The total number of those coming during Eid al-Adha was 42,282 people, with 9,010 of them returning to Turkey in the same month.

Crossing statistics indicated that there were 19,054 tons of humanitarian supplies entering via the crossing to humanitarian aid groups throughout August.

The number of non-emergency medical cases that were transferred to Turkey through the crossing from Bab al-Hawa hospital clinics was 582, with 331 of them entering into Turkish hospitals.

The crossing administration has said in previous statistics that the number of Syrians expelled during July was 6,160, while the number in June was 4,370 and 3,316 in May.

The Bab al-Hawa border crossing with Turkey is considered to be the main crossing into Idleb and its environs and is an economic and humanitarian lifeline. It is under the control of the civil administration and military domination of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
