Government Reverses Agricultural Damage

Syria says the government is supporting production needs to assist the sector, during an interview with Syria TV on Saturday.

The Syrian government is exerting huge efforts to alleviate the damage suffered by agriculture as a result of the current crisis in the country, because it is a key sector to the national economy, Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Ahmad al-Qadri said Saturday.


Speaking to Syria TV on Saturday, Qadri said the government is supporting the production requirements of the sector.


Qadri said that the level of the wheat crop was stable, pointing out that the current season is expected to produce 3.6 million tons of wheat over 1.3 million hectares.
