U.N. Chemical Weapons Discussions Fruitful: FM

An agreement was reached on how to proceed with the mission

Agreement was reached with a U.N. delegation to Damascus on how a mission to investigate chemical weapons use in Syria should proceed, according to a press release issued jointly by the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry and the United Nations.

 

Discussions were thorough and fruitful, according to the statement.

 

"Invited by the Syrian Arab Republic, the U.N. Higher Representative for Disarmament Affairs, accompanied by the Head of the U.N. Investigation Committee, visited Damascus on July 24th and 25th and met with the Foreign Minister and his deputy to discuss the mission's task in the country," the statement said.
