A decree has been issued excusing the President of the Central Commission for Monitoring and Inspection, Nabil Khatib, from his position and assigning Judge Nazir Khairallah in his place.
The Syrian Cabinet recently passed a draft decree replacing the body with the Anti-Corruption Commission. Khatib had formerly been Minister of Justice, while Judge Nazir Khairallah was the President of the Terrorism Court.
