Among thousands of leaked documents, Zaman al-Wasl has discovered names of two people providing the Syrian regime with arms.
In two documents forwarded to Minister of interior in May 2013, two contracts were mentioned between the Ministry of Interior and Alaaeddin Hussein Shwaish to supply 105,000 gas bombs as well as 1,000 gas cannons.
The documents revealed that Shwaish had completed 40% of the contract started in 2011, and provided 43,500 gap bombs, and supplied only six gas cannons out of 1,000.
In another document dated in the end of 2013, a note was made about Hussein Shwaish, Alaaeddin’s father, allowed to complete a contract to supply 5,000 bulletproof helmets.
Another document issued in 2013 shows that the Shwaish are long-term suppliers for the Syrian regime and they have strong connections with the Ministry of Interior. That document suggested conducting another contract with the Shwaish to supply more bulletproof helmets for the security forces staff to use in suppressing Syrian people.
