Cabinet Approves Bill Regulating Firefighting

Halki also asked that requirements of agricultural production be provided, particularly seed and fertilizer, and that grain mills are functioning

The Cabinet approved on Tuesday a bill regulating the affairs of firefighting and a proposal permitting the transportation of cotton outside administrative borders.

Chairing the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Wael al-Halki also asked that requirements of agricultural production be provided, particularly seed and fertilizer, and for assurances that grain mills are functioning.

He called for a curb on infringements on market prices and transport fees and confirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering economic relations with friendly countries, adding that the upcoming meetings of the Syrian-Russian Joint Committee should expand cooperation between the two countries and may lead to opening a credit line with Russia.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem also briefed the Cabinet members on the latest political developments in the region.
