Coalition Revokes State Of Emergency in Syria

National coalition issues decree annulling Syria's 1963 state of emergency act

The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces has issued legislative decree No.1, which canceled the military Resolution No.2 implimented on March 8, 1963, which declared a state of emergency in Syria.

The Coalition released a statement claiming it issued the decree "as the Coalition is the legitimate representative of the Syrian people, while the international community recognizes it as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people".

Legislative Decree No.1 invalidates a number of other decisions, including the decrees related to obstructing the implementation of socialist legislations, the formation of the State Security Courts and the pursuit of Muslim Brotherhood members.
