President Bashar al-Assad’s political and media advisor, Bouthaina Shaaban, said the Syrian political leadership is optimistic about changes in the coming period in favor of the Syrian state and its people.
Speaking at a meeting with members of the People’s Assembly, Shaaban stressed that President Assad is keeping a close eye on all aspects of military and civil affairs in the country.
“The political leadership under the president has made big progress as far as protecting Syria and its people is concerned,” Shaaban said.
She asserted that the firmness and clear-sighted political vision of the president, and the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army, are positively contributing to the shaping of the region’s future.
