Investment Opportunities Conference Kicks off in Damascus

The first Investment Opportunities and Partnership Conference commenced its activities at the al-Sham Hotel in Damascus on Wednesday.

The conference, organized by the Committee of Industrialist Businesswomen and the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and its Countryside, included entrepreneurs from Iran, the BRICS states, expatriate Syrian industrialists in addition to ministry and union representatives.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry Kamal Eddin Taameh said the current situation in Syria encouraged the government to adopt a rationalized economic scheme that protects the national economy without overlooking the importance of rehabilitating the industrial sector.

Taameh said the government has also made significant economic changes that aim to pave the way for foreign and domestic investors while assisting the private sector in increasing efficiency and competitiveness.

The minister also highlighted the role of some organizations that manage the activities of the private sector, calling upon all investors to seize the opportunity to invest in the country’s development and reconstruction.
