The Arab Writers’ Union organized a literary forum in the capital Damascus to shed light on the importance of women’s cultural and social contributions.

The event, entitled “Women on the Wing of a Cloud,” was attended by senior Baath Party member Khalaf al-Meftah who underlined the significance of female creativity, voicing hope that participants would contribute to enriching Syria’s literary heritage.

Chairman of the Arab Writers’ Union Nidal al-Saleh said that the event represented the beginning of a series of literary forums to be held in the future.
