The sixth round of intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva will reconvene on May 16, a statement released by the office of the United Nations special envoy for Syria read on Monday.
“Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura will reconvene the intra-Syrian talks under the auspices of the United Nations in Geneva on May 16, 2017. In this round, he is looking forward to intensified work with invitees on the items on agenda of the talks, within the context of outcomes of Geneva 4,” de Mistura’s office said in a statement released Monday.
The statement added that the special envoy reiterates his hope that the agreement reached in Astana on May 4 will be implemented in full.
