U.S.-Led Coalition Airstrikes on Raqqa Kill 12 Civilians

U.S.-led coalition airstrikes on Monday killed 12 civilians, including women and children, as they attempted to leave the Islamic State-held city of Raqqa.

Local and media sources said that the coalition warplanes hit an area of boats gathering on the northern bank of the Euphrates River where a number of civilians were attempting to flee with their families from the southern neighborhoods of the city.

Last Saturday, at least 43 civilians were killed in U.S.-led airstrikes that targeted a residential building in Raqqa. Most of those killed were women and children.
