At least 42 civilians were killed Tuesday in a series of airstrikes by the U.S.-led international coalition on the city of Mayadin in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, according to local and media sources.

On June 19, 12 civilians from one family were killed in a massacre committed by the coalition in Tal al-Shayer area near the Syrian-Iraqi border in the southeastern countryside of Hassakeh.

Earlier, on June 9, the coalition also shelled the western parts of Raqqa city with internationally banned white phosphorus munitions, killing 17 people.
