U.S. Postponed Delivery of Anti-Chemical Agent Before Attack: FSA

Military source in the joint Chiefs of Staff of the Free Syrian Army have revealed that Washington impeded the entry of Atropine and other anti-chemical agents to Syria before the use of chemical weapons last week in the Ghouta area of Damascus.

The source disclosed that Italy had sent devices to protect against chemical weapons to Turkey two months ago, but that Italian authorities were waiting on the U.S. embassy approval in Ankara to allow them to enter Syria.

After the chemical attack on Ghouta, the U.S. embassy promptly sent atropine and masks, the source said.

In a related development, rebels have obtained their own hand-made anti-chemical masks in the event of another attack by Assad on Aleppo or other Syrian areas.

A rebel leader in the Shouhadaa Badr brigade told Zaman al-Wasl that "we have to be prepared especially after the proposed U.S. strike, when Assad will be more savage and will use terrible ways to kill."
