Turkey has deported the son of a British official after his arrest with eight other British citizens as they purportedly attempted to cross into Syria, the Anatolia news agency claimed.
The agency said the son of Shakeel Ahmed, a Labour Party councillor, was arrested on the Turkish side of its border with Syria and deported from Turkish Dalaman Airport to Birmingham in England.
Thousands of foreigners have joined the ranks of ISIS in Syria and Iraq including around 600 British citizens, most of them entering Syria through the Turkish border.
