The Syrian government’s current priorities are to ensure food security and provide the citizens with basic needs, while continuing efforts to combat terrorism and restore security, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi said on Thursday.
Meeting with local, religious, political and business figures from Damascus countryside, Mount Hermon, and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Halaqi said that the government is keen to directly communicate with civil and popular organisations in all Syrian areas to enhance coordination and cooperation as far as services and provision of needs are concerned.
Such cooperation, the prime minister said, would effectively contribute to restoring production in various industrial and agricultural sectors, in addition to providing better care to displaced families who have fled terrorism-stricken areas.
Halaqi also highlighted the importance of these civil and popular bodies in contributing to confronting terrorism, achieving greater local reconciliations and strengthening national unity.
