A young Syrian man has chosen to sit outside in the snow wearing only his underwear and holding the flag of the Syrian revolution to protest against the siege in Madaya.
With temperatures close to minus 10 degrees, Nihad Abed told Zaman al-Wasl that he chose to undertake the demonstration in order to bring to light to the suffering of the people in the besieged city.
Abed explained that he was unable to tolerate the cold for more than half an hour, which made him question how people in Madaya could endure such weather without any source of warmth, food or drink.
Abed also said he believed that pro-Assad shabeeha and Hezbollah members currently in Germany have seized the chance to defame and distort the image of Syrian refugees.
