The First Army, a key rebel unit in the Southern Front alliance, recaptured Tal al-Sheikh Hussein and other military posts in the eastern countryside of Daraa on Monday, bombarding regime bases with mortar fire.
Regime forces had previously seized control of Tal Hajer, Tal al-Sheikh Hussein, Mazraet al-Kuwaiti and the neighboring district of al-Thaaleh military airport near the Druze-dominated province of Suweida.
ِAssad air strikes also targeted the towns of al-Msaifra, al-Tiba, al-Karak and Om Walad in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
Regime advances near the Jordanian border have alarmed rebels as their strongholds on the eastern front now lie within striking distance, activists said.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Network for Human Rights said 63 people lost their lives in regime air strikes on Monday.
