The head of the Syrian State-building Movement, Louay Hussein said talk about U.S. and international military intervention in Syria is no more than a media stunt.
Hussein, writing on his personal Facebook page, said: "I think that the issue of American or international military intervention in Syria is no more than a media stunt, and has been from the outset."
Hussein said that the west will not intervene militarily because it is not in its, nor Israel’s interests.
"I think that before thinking about these things, we should pay attention to Israel's interest to do so. Here in this region, Israel's interest surpasses the interest of the United States, as well as Russia's interest, and it certainly surpasses the interests of Qatar or Turke,” he wrote.
Iran's interest remains in the face of Israeli interests, he said.
“From my point of view, the interests of Israel tend to stability in the region and not to flounder in paths that can lead to unforeseen results.”
“The region had this stability before the evolution of the conflict in Syria. And Israel's problem with Hezbollah was idle and dependent on the results of the Iranian nuclear negotiations."
Hussein added that the interest of the West and Israel is to "accelerate Geneva II to re-adjust the situation in Syria and to manage the Syrian crisis so that it does not hurt their interests.”
Permission for American military intervention in Syria is not up to the United States, he said, but is subject to the will of Israel.
“Israel is the security official in the region,” he said.
The head of overseas branch in the National Coordinating Commission for Democratic Change in Syria, Haytham Manna, also rejected any foreign military intervention in response to alleged chemical weapons attacks in Damascus. Manna said in an interview with that the chemical weapons used are “domestically made”
“The Coordination rejects any foreign military intervention in any form and any external cover given to attack the Syrian nation,” he added.
"The available data we have so far indicates that the chemical weapons that were used in Eastern Ghouta were locally made, but as for the party which used it, we are checking according to our own data and that is why we haven’t made hasty statements in this regard,” he said.
