A kidnapped field doctor in northwestern Syria has been freed after his family paid the $100,000 ransom, local sources said Sunday.
Dr. Khalil al-Agha is the Head of Health Directorate in opposition-held areas and one of the medics who joined the Syrian revolution. He a gained reputation for his work in field hospitals.
Five days ago, an armed group kidnapped al-Agha from his hospital in the village of Kherbat al-Jouz at the Turkish border and issued a ransom demand.
