The Information Ministry on Monday signed a protocol with the Islamic TV and Radio Union in Iran on joint media cooperation.
The protocol aims at coordinating in the face of an imminent enemy conspiracy and to consolidate common values. It also established the basis for a union bringing together media institutions which have the same political directives.
The agreement boosts media ties in all fields, whether in new or traditional media, the exchange of expertise, training courses, development of human cadres, and exchange of news, archives and satellites.
Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said the protocol comes as part of long and fruitful cooperation between Syrian media institutions and the Islamic TV and Radio Union.
He added that the Union has been committed to supporting Syrian media during the recent period, particularly in the fields of training and exchange expertise.
For his part, Secretary General of the Union, Ali Karimian, confirmed the protocol will be a starting point for cooperation at an international standard, particularly after the successful experiment gained by the strong cooperation between the Union and Syrian media.
