“There are no common points between the U.S. strategy in Syria and Afghanistan,” said Ilham Ahmad, head of the executive body of the Syrian Democratic Council. “The US forces’ mission in the region is not over yet,” she noted.

“The Autonomous Administration’s recognition will come from the Syrian constitution”, Ahmad said in a television interview on the al-Aan TV. She then added that the Autonomous Administration believes that there is uncertainty regarding a clear solution to the Syrian crisis.

“There are several factors that make us rule out resolving the crisis in Syria soon,” she said.

“Security and administrative structures are not independent but are a temporary situation for a political solution,” Ilham Ahmad said.

“Bashar al-Assad already said that Syria cannot go back to the way it was before 2011. This is a crucial point that we have previously emphasized and stressed on,” she added.

She explained that the international coalition forces are providing support to protect ISIS families’ camps. She called for more attention regarding the trials of ISIS elements in Syria.

“Autonomous Administration has begun to work with some countries to bring back the children of ISIS.”

“U.S. presence in the region is shifting to civilian support that ends terrorism,” Ahmad said.

From Ilham Ahmad’s point of view, “Autonomous Administration was formed on the basis of societal necessities. Today, it is in northeastern Syria and is a decentralized administrative structure.

“The policies of the central Syrian regime led to the emergence of popular uprisings,” she said.

She explained that the Autonomous Administration preferred dialogue and the public base instead of resorting to weapons or using violence as a solution to change.
