Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said Tuesday Syria will never abandon any part of its national soil, including the occupied Golan, acknowledging the people's courage and struggle against the Israeli occupation.
Halqi was speaking ahead of the anniversary of the occupation of the Golan Heights by Israeli forces on 5 June, 1967.
"Today we remember a painful anniversary; the aggression of 5 June, when the Israeli entity occupied parts of Arab territories, among them the Syrian Golan, which is considered a basic part of Syria," Halqi said, addressing a weekly Cabinet meeting.
He also called on the ministers to offer the best possible services to the citizens to improve their livelihoods; to provide them with the basic needs in terms of water, electricity, communications and health.
The Premier also referred to government measures to support the Syrian Pound.
