Czech police on Sunday arrested former head of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) organization Salih Muslim.
The Turkish Anadolu Agency reported that the Czech Interpol unit arrested Muslim based on a red notice issued by Turkish authorities.
It indicated that Prague had informed Turkey of the arrest and that Muslim would be brought before the relevant Czech court to decide if he would be charged or not.
Czech officials had asked Turkey to send the necessary documents in order to extradite Muslim to Ankara. Turkish security officials are communicating with the Turkish Justice Ministry in order to begin administrative procedures concerned with handing Muslim over.
The Turkish Interior Ministry put Salih Muslim’s name on the list of wanted terrorists in a red notice and announced a reward of 4 million Turkish lira (about a million dollars) for his arrest.
