Changes in Suweida Internal Security Apparatus

The Ministry of Interior has made several changes to the internal security apparatus for the province of Suweida, according to Suweida 24’s sources.

The changes affected assistant police chief, Brig. Gen. Bassam Zaidan, who was appointed assistant to the director of the Operations Department, while Brig. Gen. Muhammad Ibrahim Zaidan was assigned to assume the position of assistant police chief in the governorate.

Col. Wael Youssef Rashoud was appointed as head of the Madinah Police Department, and Col. Tariq Shaban al-Suleiman was appointed head of department in the prison branch, while Dr. Basil Yasser al-Shoufi was assigned head of the Medical Services Branch.

The changes also included a number of district directors in separate areas of Suweida, where Lt. Col. Mazen Ahmed Latta was appointed director of al-Ghariya district. Captain Suleiman Muhammad al-Hassan was appointed director of the Maleh district, while Captain Hassan Mahmoud Saud was appointed director of an ancient sub-district, while Captain Ubada Ibrahim was assigned as head of the Mazraa District Directorate.

According to the same sources, Brig. Gen. Basem Thabet Abu Ali was appointed as head of the Criminal Security Branch, Brig. Gen. Ghassan Ali Melhem as head of the Najda Branch, Captain Madin Jaber Hassoun as head of the Criminal Security Center in Shahba, and Col. Salih Nadim Ahmed head of the Shahba area.

Brig. Kazem Ramadan al-Salama — who used to be president of the Criminal Security Branch in Suweida, was appointed head of the Najda branch in Aleppo and assigned Brig. Bassam Khaddour, who was previously the head of the Najda branch in Suweida, as head of the Administrative Affairs Branch in Damascus. Col. Tariq Munir Saqr was appointed head of the Hassakeh Police Department, after he had previously worked in the Suweida prison.
