Arrest Campaign Follows Protests in Deir ez-Zor

Regime forces, with support from the Iranian militias, have conducted a campaign of arrests, following protests and demonstrations reports Deir Ezzor 24.

Assad’s forces, backed by a number of Iranian militiamen, carried out a campaign of arrests a few days ago against dozens of young men in the western Deir ez-Zor countryside, sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.

Our correspondent said that the campaign was carried out after the people of the western Deir ez-Zor countryside staged demonstrations in al-Shumeitiyah village and the areas around it, demanding the Fatemiyoun and al-Nujabaa militias leave the western Deir ez-Zor countryside, after the bloody campaign they carried out against the people of Deir ez-Zor, which started with a massacre in Raqqa countryside that resulted in the killing of more than 20 young men, eight of them the al-Busaraya tribe from Deir ez-Zor province, in response to the killing of Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander Qassem Soleimani.

There are still a state of tension among the people of the western Deir ez-Zor countryside, which is under the control of Assad’s forces, because of the retaliatory actions carried out by the al-Nujabaa and Fatimiyeon militias, local sources told Deir Ezzor 24 network.

Many Iranian militias are deployed in the areas of Deir ez-Zor, west of the Euphrates, to carry out the Iranian agenda that aims at occupying the region at all levels.
