Despite Eid, Aerial Bombing Continues on Rebel-Held Areas

Dozens of civilians were killed and wounded during Russian and international coalition airstrikes on the cities and countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, Raqqa and Hassakeh — all areas excluded from the de-escalation zones agreed upon between Russia, Turkey and Iran.

Local sources and activists said that warplanes targeted a house in Al-Qouriya in the Deir-ez-Zor countryside on Sunday evening where a displaced family from Raqqa were living. The airstrike led to the death of 12 displaced people, mostly women and children.

Five civilians, mostly women and children, were killed on Sunday in a Russian airstrike on Mo Hasan town, close to the area of clashes between the Islamic State (ISIS) and the regime in the vicinity of Deir-ez-Zor military airport.

The Assad regime air force also bombed a number of neighborhoods in Deir-ez-Zor and villages in its countryside.

Meanwhile in Raqqa, strikes by coalition forces killed three civilians when their vehicle was targeted while transporting drinking water from the Euphrates River. Drinking water has stopped reaching the city’s neighborhoods after aerial bombardment damaged the city’s water network.

In Hassakeh, the U.S.-led coalition killed an entire family in an airstrike on a home in the village of Umm Hafour in the countryside of Al-Shaddadah.
