On Saturday evening, an explosive device detonated in the car of the commander of the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, Abu Khawla, in the Nashwa neighborhood, south of the city Hassakeh.

Abu Khawla told North Press that the explosion did not cause any human casualties, saying, “I am in good health and the damage is material only.”

Unidentified persons target military leaders in the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, employees of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, and civilians from time to time.

On Oct. 29, 2020 two unknown gunmen shot Khaled al-Khalif, an official in the fuel office of the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council and his brother Aboud, a member of the council of Jadidat Akidat village in Deir ez-Zor countryside.
